Peter Murphy
I've always liked Wittgenstein's idea that the purpose
of philosophy is to enable the fly to get out of the fly-bottle and view
writing and the arts in much the same way. I've worked in various forms:
poetry (including visual and sound poetry), fiction (mainly short stories),
theatre and photography. My publications include short story collections,
Black Light (1979) and The Moving Shadow Problem (1986), and poetry collections,
Lies (1981) and Snapshots (1994 which contains some visual poems.) Some
of my most recent visual poems have been included in issues of Axle and
Mixed Concrete Poetry (Paper Virus Press).
